WARNING:
- Not recommended for induction motor with high inertia load.
- Will not work with air conditioners.
- Do not use with a machine that already has a soft-start feature.
- The theoretical ramp time of this soft starter is approximately 2 seconds.
- Capacitor-start induction motors must be at full speed within 3 seconds of being switched on. If your induction motor takes longer than 3 seconds to reach full speed, discontinue use of soft starter immediately.

Worked as expected. Well made.
Made big difference, in how my 40+ year old Craftsman, 1/2 horsepower radial arm saw starts up. I used to have to give the blade a little nudge to get it started, even on a 20amp breaker from grid power source. Now using grid or solar power, it starts up smoothly. Almost spins up my, 1/2 horsepower swamp cooler from my solar array battery bank, but my inverter still kicks out. Am confident once I get a larger inverter that can handle more in rush current before tripping. (my 3000w inverter cuts out at 2 seconds, just before the soft start finishes ramping up) the swamper should work just fine too. The swamp cooler does spin most of the way up though, before the inverter cuts out, and does so rather smoothly. Though I will have to figure some way to wire the water pump separately, as it doesn't like the soft starter, and doesn't need it to function better.
Very glad I decided to go ahead and purchase the GS10.
I had a 15A circuit with a TV, a small (250w) IR lamp and 4 LED spot lights on my enclosed porch, but the problem was I would trip the breaker, or at least turn of the TV when I turned on the 1500w heater. It was a quartz heater that I connected to the GS10 and it works perfectly, now. The coils slowly ramp up and it doesn't matter what is off or on, I don't have a problem any more.
Always get the continuous duty soft starter! I was actually able to wire this to a switch on an old cinema projector and it starts up beautifully! You should definitely 100% buy this one.
We purchased the GS10 soft starter to solve the abrupt startup on our commercial sewing machine. The GS10 immediately fixed the problem after it was installed. Great product and terrific customer service. Five stars!
I don't want to give the product a one star rating as it could be a great product, but it just didn't work in my application. I'm trying to start a 1 KW pump motor attached to a 2.5 KW inverter. The inverter can't handle the inrush current. I was hoping this product would fix that, but alas, the problem still exists. Maybe the inverter is more to blame than this product.
